Quilted Throwover Bedspreads

Quilted bedspreads are constructed with a top surface fabric, a polyester wadding of either 4oz or 6oz weight and a poly cotton cream or coloured contrasting lining to make the sandwich which is stitched through by computerised machinery to produce the quilted effect.

The quilted throwover bedspread is, as its name suggests, a throw over the bed. It has no fitted sides or additions to its one piece construction. The only extras to the bedspread are the way that the edges are finished. From simple machine bound to piped, piped and frilled, piped and double frilled, piped and rushed bolster, piped and plain border, plain borders from 25mm 15mm wide with piping inserted. Plain borders, ruche and plain bolsters.

The bottom of the bedspread can be finished with rounded, square, and semi fitted corners. Cut-outs of various forms can be made into the bedspread for the accommodation of bed frames, footboards and four poster beds.

In addition to the bedspread, reverse pillow flaps can be added to create pillow rolls. There are numerous stitching patterns to produce excellent quilted bedspreads in plain and printed fabrics making them very individual.

It is possible to create co-ordinated themes with curtains and furnishings making this particularly attractive to hotel designers and owners. The housekeeping is also much more efficient when using throwovers.
