Quilted Fitted Bedspreads

The quilted fitted bedspread is made up of three layers of fabrics: top cloth, wadding in 4 oz or 6oz and polyester cotton lining make the sandwich which is stitched through by computerised machinery to produce the quilted top.

As its name suggests the bedspread is fitted, meaning that it has a quilted top and skirt sides applied to it. These can be frilled, double frilled, plain side, kick pleated corners, inverted pleats, box pleated, boxed sided box pleated.

The sides can be lined or not and borders and frills added to the bottom but an accurate measurement of the bed height is an important requirement. A short skirt can be applied, showing off a contrasting base valance. The top of the bed can also have a pillow gusset or pillow flap applied to stop the skirt lifting.

This type of bedspread is often chosen when the room sizes are small as there is little extra floor space taken up with the flared corners of the bedspread.
